12 Jan Tips for managing Fussy eating in children
Dear Parent,
It’s perfectly normal for toddlers to refuse to eat or even taste new foods.
Do not worry about what your child eats in a day and miss occasional mealtimes. Its more helpful to think about what they eat over a week.
If your child is eating well, active and gaining weight then they are getting enough to eat
Common Tips
Enjoyable mealtimes: Let the child associate mealtime as a pleasurable event
Family mealtime: Try to make it as a regular daily routine followed
Avoid Screen time
Avoid grazing food in between the meals
Provide choices
Above all praise them for whatever they have accomplished with eating.
Praise them when they try new foods,
Keep it smaller meals and make them feel accomplished on finishing their food portion.
Have a structured mealtime
Have a time limit like 20 minutes to 30 minutes for a meal and 10 minutes for your child to finish it or else take it away without commenting or scolding your child.
