Anti bullying

Supporting vulnerable children who become victims of bullying in schools.

Bullying among children in schools is a pervasive issue with significant implications for mental health and well-being.

Research consistently shows that these children are at increased risk of developing psychological symptoms such as anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, as well as engaging in non-suicidal self-injury (NSSI).

Bullying can manifest in various forms including physical, verbal, and increasingly, cyberbullying.
It is imperative for healthcare professionals to identify and address the physical consequences of bullying at the earliest.

1. Early Identification:
Regular screening for signs of bullying during routine health check-ups which includes observing changes in behaviour, mood swings, unexplained injuries, and reluctance to attend school.

2. Psychological Support:
Creating a safe space for adolescents to discuss their experiences of bullying is crucial.

3. Empowering Strategies:
Educating, encouraging healthy social interactions and fostering supportive peer relationships can also mitigate the negative effects of bullying.

4.Advocacy and Collaboration:
Collaborating with schools, community organizations, and policymakers to create and enforce anti-bullying policies and promote a culture of respect and inclusivity.

Together with families and the broader community, we can create a supportive environment where every child feels safe, valued, and capable of achieving their full potential.
